In an episode of Boston Legal, Alan Shore made a closing speech defending a doctor who euthanized five patients during the events of Hurricane Katrina. Shore opened his speech by bringing up an article he read about rampaging elephants.  This captured the audience's attention and, as a result, was very effective.  He was able to sway the jury in his favour by getting them emotional in the closing of his speech.  He did this by bringing up the hardships that the doctor went through during the crisis.  After he was finished, he had many of the jurors in tears.  Before the jury had to make a final decision, the family suing the doctor decided to drop all charges.  Shore was able to open their eyes to the circumstances that the doctor was in, and all charges were dropped.  The speaker had great voice movements, from speeding up and slowing down, to using effective pauses.  While he did have a mannerism
